Old business: ATV Safety/ Trail ambassador training: 6 People going (5 from our club Tom, Duane, Kelly, Denny, & Kevin McKinney) + Scott Williams Trails North ATV Club. This will be in Minong March 6th
Fundraisers: None scheduled at this time. We need memberships renewed.
NEW Business: Apply for money for trial rehab. Tom will speak w/ Scott for money for all trails. Jeff Rasmussen offered dozer for work on trails.
-ATV Nation Toys for Tots ride is scheduled for Oct. 23, 2010 at Lakewoods again. We will need members to assist in leading the groups again. Last year they were able to raise, in cash, checks and toys $6,292.00 GREAT JOB! They asked us to help again, Motion Red, 2nd everybody approved
-American Red Cross: From Lakewoods, a combination Motorcycle / ATV Ride again they need our help guiding ATV’s. This is set for August 28th, 2010 this is the 1st yr for this and it would be a good thing for our club, Thoughts??? Motion, Red 2nd Everybody, Approved.
-New membership cards & stickers? Kelly will look into the cost to have them printed in Hayward and will report next month.
-Red suggests that on the backside of the membership cards we have a calendar of the meeting locations.

Old Business: ATV safety instructor/Trail ambassador class this weekend (3/6/10) Meet at R-Place café’ at 7:30 for coffee then leaves by 8 am.
-Namakagon /Clam Lake trail – On hold Duane & Phil went to meeting need to get the town more info. Forestry department approves the trail. (Spider Lake is dragging their feet.)
-Sawyer county Camp 38 rd. Tom & Duane and 4-5 people from NCR met to discuss opening camp 38 rd for ATV use therefore cutting about 6 miles off the ride to access the trail system to get to town. They left it open to discussion and asked for a decision by Apr/May.
-Memberships, we will send out 1 more email regarding membership renewals, then follow up w/ 1 letter.
-Meetings: it has been brought to our attention that we should set up a full year schedule as to where we will be having our monthly meetings, we have set a schedule as such, (Keep in mind that if we are unable to have a meeting at the scheduled location we will email out reminders regarding the new location.)

NEW Business: May 14/15 Cable area Off Road classic bike race. The Chamber has invited us to assist again in the race and preparing the field for the race. Motion made to assist: Kevin McKinney 2nd Denny B, Motion carried. We will need volunteers to help prepare the trail and the day of the race to lead and follow the participants.
- New Trail in Namekagon – Birch bend Rd / Portion of Cty Rd. D Approved by town board. Needs to be signed County will sign the portion of D if we get them the signs. Tom & Duane will look into the signs that will be needed. Motion to approve signing Rick N, 2nd Kevin M. Carried
- FYI the bridge by the chief will by out for repairs starting March 29 thru July 1, 2010
- Bob suggests we invite Warden Jill and Larry Loch to our May meeting to discuss up coming ATV season, it would be nice if anyone has any questions they could answer regarding ATV use, Trail, Routes, Etc. Kelly will attend meeting at Telemark March 2, 2010 and extend the invitation.
- Railroad grade: 3/15 is date for filing appeal
- Wild river Dev.: We need new board of Directors.

Trails: Need to schedule workday for new trail post signs on Camp 38. Work day 4/15 meet at Rondeaus 5 pm
Old business: Chamber Race: Cable off road classic in May some discussion regarding the route. There are areas that we can’t access thru the woods. Except in case of emergency.
Need to talk with Chamber for a better Idea on the route.
Fundraisers: None scheduled at this time.
NEW Business: May 3rd meeting will be the Annual Meeting – election of officers. Jill Schartner and Larry Loch will be there to answer any questions you may have regarding changes in the ATV laws for this up coming season.
Committee Report: New trails: Camp 38 rd. Sawyer County Forestry comm. hopes to get it approved. Clam Lake- Not looking favorable at this point we need to continue to work on getting a trail to Clam Lake.
Spider lake – 203/204 mapped trail proposal with county forest 3 bridges needed possibly, 3-5 yrs to develop, if this is not feasible they will work on roads again. Forestry needs 2-3 yrs for an environmental study.
Tom looked at Birch Bend in Namekagon, after the construction the approach to the Chief will be wider, wondering about signs?
Brett- County- Tourism department put together plan regarding “Re-Routes” Attorney will set conditions for regarding the re-routes. County hopes to have a letter ready by the 2010/2011-snowmobile season.
Trail 63 may be 1 yr before Judge Crab makes a decision.
Tom & Duane- New trail approx 3.5 miles went to county to get trail funded. Seen Theresa- Drummond to Grandview – Approved. A portion across the trestle may be available for funding.

A Special Thank You to Larry Loch and Jill Schartner for attending our meeting and answering questions and updating the club with current information. Here are a few highlights from the meeting.
Q&A with Larry and Jill:
New laws? None currently for ATV’s
All Rec. Vehicles- regarding OWI’s these will carry across to all rec. vehicles (IE: get an OWI on a snowmobile 1st offense then get one on an ATV that will be your 2nd offense and of course the fines go up with each offense!) If this pattern continues the Judge MAY REVOKE your privileges, (IE: ability to operate ATV, Snowmobile, Hunting, Fishing, Etc.)
-UTV’s: Bayfield county is up for the adoption of them.
-Ambassador program: Keep in mind to be watchful of underage operators and underage riders without proper helmets.
Remind riders of the 10 MPH law when they are within 150 ft of a residence
Remind riders to stay on trails
Trails: Kevin Dudley reports the Island Lake loop is in good condition
Old business: Chamber Race- out 5/2 marked trails, still need to have trails marked from Lakewoods to Island Lake loop, Kevin and John will go and finish the marking. Race day is May 15th; we need volunteers for race day to assist. Volunteers: Tom Frels, Duane Amundson, Denny B, John M & Bob L, Kevin D, Rick N, Mark D, Jake, red and Kevin M will be out with the Fire Department.
- Meeting last week working on Connector routes/trails: the Club, Town of Cable, Town of Clam Lake, Town of Namekagon, and adjoining townships are working in connection with the DNR, County Forestry to establish connector trails to complete existing trail systems, Next meeting is scheduled for June.
-Memberships: need to get the word out regarding expired memberships.
Fundraisers: None scheduled at this time.
NEW Business:. Camp 38 Rd. Duane and Sue Miller were out and the hill near trail 8 and camp 38 rd needs grading for better visibility
-New trail needs some signs, (IE: caution step hill)
- Need to send Rasmussen’s a Thank you for the use of the Dozer and for their time in grading the new trail.
-We need to put chips on the hills on the new trail to help with any erosion issues before they happen.

Trails: Red has been spreading chips on the new trail, Kevin will be bringing more, so they to can be spread.
Work night scheduled for Thursday, Red, Tom & Denny will go and sign Birch point Rd to the Chief so that the route is open and legal.
We need to schedule a workday for Island Lake
Special Speaker: Dave P (Pilot Fish Inn) has asked the town to open Telemark Rd from Spider lake fire lane to his motel. There is only 1 other couple living on this road that are Ok with this even though they don’t like ATV’s they aren’t opposed to allowing it. The Town board has tabled it (because it needs to be on the agenda for 2 months before they will make a decision. Dave has come to the club as a paid member asking us to help him. Motion Kevin Dudley to support Dave (Pilot Fish Inn) 2nd Denny, Carried. Kelly will draft a letter to the Town board requesting them to open Telemark Rd. as an ATV Route to assess Pilot Fish And their clientele.
Old business:. Club Ride Saturday June 12, rain or shine we will leave Cable park 10 am and return around 4pm for a club picnic, Richie will be cooking pork butts and BBQ chicken, salads will be made by Paulette Frels and Kelly.
Chamber Ride: Rave reviews; many thanks to all who helped make this a success again this year. Great Job!!

4th of July Parade: Mark Dominkowski is in charge of organizing the parade ride. We need riders!!! Last year we dint ride and CAMBA loved the fact we weren’t there. Let’s make our presence known. RR Grade: Brief has been submitted, Rails to trails are supporting, Judge Crab will review it again it may take a month before she gets it to review it again, If it goes to the Federal Appeals they have the option to hear it or not, but if it goes there they may want to hear this case just because of the importance of this case.
UTV- Resolution passed in Bayfield county. “Routes” approved, including Tri county corridor. Forest Routes are NOT approved as of yet.

ATV Safety Class: Contact Larry Loch, lets see if we can get a class July 17/18, 24/25 at the cable park, or community center.

Trails: Island lake loop Couple guys Red was out 7/10 5hrs cutting need tractor w/ bucket or skidster for banks and maintenance. Work day????
Need to see if we can put in for funding for rehab on Island lake some areas could really use it.
Old business: Signage – New trail, corners need attention maybe some markers showing your still on the trail.
Namakagon Chief Trail – Tourism dept approved, sent back to several committees for approval
4th of July Parade- GREAT Job we had 11 riders good time even w/ the rain.
July 15th – Town meeting for the Pilot Fish Inn Route.
ATV Class – July 23, 26& 31 at the Cable Rod & Gun Club. 6pm-8:30 Pm Friday & Monday, Saturday to be determined.
American Red Cross Ride – coming up Aug 28th Lakewoods is hosting. (Poster on our website w/ more details)
Toy’s for Tots – October 23 – Lakewoods is hosting (we’ll need riders to assist again)

NEW Business: Special Election to be held in August. Brett Rondeau is stepping down do to a possible conflict w/ his position on the county board. Therefore we need a Vice President.
Wilde river dev. Annual meeting is Saturday at 11 am. Tom will attend. ANYONE Living in or owning property in the development should also attend and voice your opinion on opening up an ATV route in the development.
UTV’s Routes open w/ the exception of Fed lands. County wants to open all trails & Routes that are controlled by the county.
MN is installing 100 miles of NEW trails – if they can do it we need to as well!
Tom will take inventory of the number of shirts/sweatshirts & hats to see what we need to order. Kelly will check w/ Terry Fairclough again about price.
